Wingfoil equip. hire @ Silverknowes Only

The thing with most water sports is that it takes a lot of practice to really enjoy them. SUP is a fairly easy-entry discipline that you can extend to yoga, racing and surfing to name a few, we love it as all weather! However wing foiling, WOW! how do you describe a sport where you literally fly effortlessly through the water like being on a magic carpet ride? This is not just the next level, it is space and beyond! We are absolutely hooked on this sport and so excited to bring it to you at our Silverknowes surf centre.

Wing foiling is again fairly easy to get stated but will take a lifetime to master. We require you taking our lessons on the basics before you can hire (Norway is a long way away!). We have a wide selection of boards, wings and foils to choose from to match with you. We’ve got 140 litre foil SUP’s (or just standard SUP for beginners) that we use for teaching the basics combined with a steady Naish Jet 2000 foil. Super stable setup that makes the whole learning experience fairly easy.

What you get when you hire:

  • Paddleboard or Foil board
  • 4m, 5m or 5.8m wing
  • 700mm foil
  • A safety briefing on conditions and where to foil (do not hit the sand!)
  • Wetsuit can be hired if needed

What you need:

  • Sign out T&C’s
  • Change of clothes
  • Towel
  • Must can swim 50metres
  • You must be able to SUP confidently or windsurf

This way, in a matter of few sessions you SHOULD be flying on that magic carpets back and “Forth”. We think it’s like riding a magic carpet! You’re floating above the water, everything goes silent as there’s no real drag, just the foil cutting through the water. All very idyllic, well apart for the inevitable falls!
